The masked woman brought the two medical officers around to an attachment to the tent at the back, almost a fourth of the size of the circus tent itself. Inside, there were several different partitioned areas, in which rows of bunk beds were placed, sometimes with hammocks strung about.

In a private area, one of the smallest partitioned spaces, another woman lay on the lower bunk, wearing a very similar mask to the first. She looked up at the sight of people arriving, and sighed, turning to the first woman. "Nan'dala, you shouldn't have... you will get in trouble."

Iviaan leant forward a little on his crutches, standing aside to let the CMO do his thing. Ready to take orders! "It's alright. Whatever happens, it'll stay between us. We're here to help."

Diahjir was quiet for a moment before he decided to introduce himself, being as reassuring as possible. "I am Dr. Lan, I know we probably do not meet under the best of circumstances, but if you could tell us what is wrong, that will be greatly appreciated. And my colleague is correct, what happens here will stay between us."

Nan'dala stood aside, nodding encouragingly at the wounded acrobat.

The wounded woman shook her head at her friend, not out of anger, but resignation. "I fell during practice earlier. The safety net... snapped, or something, I think? I can't really move my legs." She could move her arms just fine, gesticulating a little as she spoke, but when she attempted to move her legs, only her left leg twitched, causing her to hiss from the pain.

He opened the medical kit and turned to the Lieutenant next to him. "Do you think you could run some diagnostics? Focus on the spine and the legs." He turned back to the wounded acrobat. "We are going to do our best to help you, so try to stay as still as you can." His tone was comforting, and he did not show any of the worries that he had.

"I don't think I have much of a choice, doc," the acrobat laughed, motioning vaguely at her legs before laying back again.

"On it." Iviaan went for his tricorder. Scanning time!

The tricorder showed that there were indeed multiple fractures along the spine, with one of the vertebra pinching the spinal cord, causing the immobility. In addition to the spinal trauma, there were multiple fractures in the pelvis, as well as a torn rectus femoris muscle, and a broken fibula.

Iviaan relayed that information to those in the room. "I think we'll need more from Medical. Unless we can risk an emergency transport, but.." he looked at his senior officer for advice on what to do.

"We need more equipment." Diahjir spoke softly for a moment before he turned ti the patient. "I am sorry, but this malady will require surgery to fully fix." He turned back to the lieutenant and finished his thought. "An emergency medical transport sounds like the best option. We need to get her to an operating theater."

The acrobat shot an unreadable look at Nan'dala, before sighing again. "Then that's the way it is," she said, resigning herself to her fate.

"Setting up transport now." Iviaan went for his combadge. This wasn't how he expected this event to go at all.

As soon as the doctors had left, another masked figure walked past the partition. "'Dala," he said, disappointed. "You've put her in danger, you know?"

"Better that than have her die here because we couldn't care for her," Nan'dala responded defiantly.
